He is also a mentor on the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership. He joined Grant Associates in 2015 following work throughout the UK and the Middle East and over his career has developed a diverse portfolio across a variety of project scales and sectors, including higher education, residential, strategic small- and large-scale master planning, parks, public realm and ecological urban design. Key project examples include work on Brabazon, Bristol; the University of Sussex West Slope Residences, Falmer; Mountbatten House, Basingstoke; HS2 Curzon Street Station, Birmingham; Lancaster University Spine, Lancaster; AELTC Wimbledon, Royal Wharf and Kings Cross in London.

Martin is passionate about working collaboratively to create inspirational and beautiful places that delight, consider the needs of both people and nature, and that contribute positively to health and wellbeing and quality of life. He believes that landscape and sustainability are essential ingredients in helping to address the challenges brought about by climate change and the ecological emergency we now find ourselves in. His work is grounded in developing innovative responses to the unique and special nature of each project.
