Areas of Expertise

My role as an inclusive design consultant involves carrying out access audits, design appraisals and producing access statements for planning. My role has also seen me gain first hand experience consulting with users groups, with recent examples with an access panel reviewing the new public institution buildings (V&A, BBC, Sadler’s Wells and London College of Fashion) for the Stratford Waterfront project within the olympic park. I provide advice on a broad range of issues from clarifying specific details of Buildings Regulations and Good Practice Guidance, to carefully explaining to stakeholders and clients the impact of their design decisions with different aspects of the Equality Act 2010.

My approach is to always be open and to listen, but also challenge how the design can be as inclusive and accessible as possible. I have also recently gained my MSc from City University of London in MSc Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Design, adding a new dimension to my knowledge increasing my understanding of technology and accessibility.
