Kathryn is Co-founder and Head of Design at Made Open Communications Ltd.
An experienced service designer, researcher and creative problem solver, Kathryn helps organisations design services and solutions that aim to transform society for the better. In recent years she has led design programmes aimed at improving health and wellbeing, supporting people with learning disabilities and creating better futures for young people.
Clients include The RNLI, Age UK, Bristol City Council, Cornwall Council, Torbay Community Development Trust and Camphill Village Trust. Kathryn’s leadership style is collaborative. She is experienced in facilitating workshops and uses methods such as ethnography, user journey mapping and service prototyping to gain insights and develop ideas. Passionate about using business as a force for good, Made Open have developed a unique digital platform which is supporting communities of place and purpose to exchange skills, ideas and resources. Kathryn is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and her company is certified B Corporation®
