Emily is a Transport Planner and Urban Designer at SYSTRA.
She is really interested in, and motivated by, trying to shape transport investment and new places to deliver both sustainable transport systems and liveable, lovable places. Emily is also really interested in how communities can be more directly engaged including both in design and decision making.
Before joining SYSTRA she worked as an Engineer, Transport Planner and Urban Designer in local government; working at local and regional scales on transport strategy development, masterplanning, regeneration, and transport capital programme development and delivery. At SYSTRA she has both led, and contributed to, a wide range of multidisciplinary projects including urban transport strategies and delivery plans, masterplanning, station and interchange design, public realm and street design and engagement for major infrastructure.
Through this wide range of projects, she has extensive experience of public and stakeholder engagement, including working with politicians and within local authority decision making processes. She therefore not only has extensive transport design and strategy development experience but also a detailed understanding of the complexities of delivery
